Author:
Patricia A. Brill, PhD
Patricia is an award-winning author and the creator of The Dog Tales Collection. Her intent in developing The Dog Tales Collection, was to help parents start a conversation with their child regarding issues or concerns they may have with their pets. These books not only speak to the concerns children have related to their pets, but can also teach children about issues of life, illness, or diversity within their own lives. These books can be used as a tool to address their child’s feelings of sadness, anger, and guilt, and clarify any misconceptions they may have regarding their pets, friends, or loved ones. Her books have received numerous awards including the Reader’s Favorite Awards; Mom’s Choice Awards; and the Creative Child Magazine Book of the Year Award.

Turbo
08/08/2007
Turbo was found by Harris County Animal Control running on the streets in Spring Texas with two other dogs. They picked up the dogs and took them to their shelter. Turbo was scheduled to be euthanized September 11, 2008 if no one adopted him by then. Fortunately for Turbo, Patricia and her husband Dino adopted him on September 10, 2008 and gave him a forever home. Turbo has been a fighter all his life. From living on the streets with heartworm disease; to having three surgeries to remove cancerous moles; and one surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament, he still looks forward to starting every day with treats!
Turbo and Porsche Bella appeared on America’s Funniest Home Video in 2017.

Boxster
04/08/2007
Boxster came from an abusive home. His original owner beat him and kept him outside chained to a dog house (only because Boxster chewed up his mail).
Once the owners decided to give up Boxster, Patricia and Dino adopted him.
Boxster was the big brother to Turbo; he was always there to support him and get him though whatever sickness or trouble he was going through. Boxster tried his best, but sometimes Turbo still got a “Bad Dog” occasionally.

Shelby
02/20/2020
Shelby was offered up for adoption through Facebook. The owner spent one weekend with her and decided a boxer puppy was too much to handle. So, Shelby came to our home. Usually, Dino would name his boxers after the Porsche car. Turbo, Boxster, Cayman, Porsche Bella, Targa… We didn’t like Panamera or Macan as names. So we asked he vet to come up with a name, Dr Scanlan knew Dino liked fast cars, so she named the puppy Shelby.
